1. Rock and Roll
This genre is started in 1950’s and then carries forward in 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. This genre is created by the musicians who play both R&B and Western Swing with the help of guitar player, a drummer, bass player, and singer. Instruments that used were electric guitar, double bass, and drum. Bill Hayley and His Comets was the first band to use this genre and made a single hit.
2. Heavy Metal
Heavy Metal music is a sub-genre of rock music that initiated in the late 1960s-70s, featuring more indistinct and heavier instrumental work and darker expressive themes. The heavy metal bands such as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Deep Purple fascinated great audiences.
With mixed harmony with rhythms and scales of blues, jazz was born. One of the greatest musicians of jazz was the trumpet player Louis Armstrong, who developed many styles of jazz. Some of the best jazz orchestras were those led by Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Fletcher Henderson, with whom Louis Armstrong played.
4. Country Music
This genre is developed in the southeastern states of the USA as a combination of folk music from the British Isles, church music, and African American blues. It was first recorded in the 1920s.
It is performed using an acoustic guitar, mandolin, autoharp, fiddle and the banjo.
5. Hip Hop
It was started in the late 1970’s in the New York City by the Latino teenager and African Americans. In 1987, New York duo Eric B. & Rakim released Paid in Full, one of hip hop's finest albums on which Rakim raps over Eric's sample-heavy beats.
